8 Best Art Activities for Art Project Ideas for Kids

Kids love art! Whether they are colouring in their colouring book, making a collage, drawing with sidewalk chalk, or getting messy with finger paints, there’s nothing that makes children happier than creating their own art.

The benefits of preschool art activity for kids go way beyond having fun. Most nursery schools in Wimbledon share the belief that the process of creating art helps development in so many ways, including problem-solving, improved motor skills, imagination, and more!

8 ART PROJECT IDEAS FOR KIDS

1. Finger Painting

Give your child a large piece of paper and let them go wild with the paint, with no directions.

2. Leaf Printing

Let your child use his creativity to decide which leaves to use, what colours to use, and make their own design on the paper.

3. Stained Glass Bunting

One of the best summer art activities for preschoolers is to create a beautiful stained glass bunting. When the sun shines through this colorful bunting, it’s gorgeous! They’ll look amazing hanging in your kitchen windows.

4. Colour Collage

Offer magazines and a sheet of white paper and ask your kids to make a colour collage with only one specific colour.

5. Sidewalk Drawing

Armed with chalk, imagination, and a safe sidewalk, kids are free to create their masterpieces.

6. Drawing Portraits

Get children to sit opposite each other in pairs, and sketch each other’s portraits with just a pencil.
