5 Things to Consider When Feeding Toddlers

Toddlers can be picky eaters, but it’s up to you to introduce healthy and nourishing foods that they will enjoy eating. When you make it fun to explore different foods (not a chore), they will learn to eat different things without a fuss. There are certain tips and tricks that you can use that can make feeding toddlers easier and more enjoyable for both of you!

If your toddler is attending nursery in Wimbledon, it’s important that they learn to be cooperative eaters so they can get the food and energy they need while at daycare in Wimbledon.

In this article, you will learn how to feed your toddler using these five simple tips so they’ll love what they eat and will eat every bite!

5 TIPS THAT WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO GET TODDLERS TO EAT

1. Set A Good Example

Children are clever, they will mimic what and how you eat. If you’re enjoying a cheesy pizza, don’t expect them to get excited about vegetables. However, if they see you eating the same foods, they will be more likely to give it a try.

2. Offer A Variety of Foods

It’s important for kids to try and like a variety of foods so they have a well-balanced and healthy diet. However, if you’re trying to introduce a new fruit or vegetable, you might have to serve it a few times before they get used to the taste and start to enjoy it

3. Make Eating Fun

When you’ve got your child in his toddler feeding chair for eating time, you have a captive audience to make eating fun, so the food becomes more appealing to them.

4. Stick To A Routine

Children need to eat three regular meals, accompanied by 2 or 3 healthy snacks, during the day to keep up energy levels. To avoid meltdowns, stick to a routine so meals are timed right so they have an appetite, but haven’t hit the ‘hangry’ stage yet!

5. Give Them Small Portions

Small portions work wonders. Otherwise, a young child can get overwhelmed and frustrated when they have too many food options. Think – less is more!

There are many schools in Wimbledon that provide superior care and education and Wimbledon Day Nursery is at the top of the list. If you’re looking for day nurseries in Wimbledon to send your child for daycare, we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing learning environment for children to thrive.
